The “Rocket Record” Podcast: Friday Spotlight #4

May 15, 2024 by Lara Rosenbach Leave a Comment

In this final Friday Spotlight, I interviewed senior Harper Leary on her experience with the college process: the challenges, the emotions, any factors that may have influenced her choices along the way, and finally, advice that she has for any rising juniors, just starting out on the college application process.

Since Season 1 of the Rocket Record podcast ends here, I sincerely hope a rising senior will feel emboldened to continue this podcast. I look forward to its continuation!

The “Rocket Record” Podcast: Senior Next Steps

May 15, 2024 by Lara Rosenbach Leave a Comment

Decision Day is here! I thought this would be a great way to end Season 1 of the podcast, and to ask three seniors—Dinah Soloway, Navlea Wang, and Amber Mitchell—how they are feeling, where they are going, and what advice they have for rising juniors and seniors; as the former begins the college process, and the latter prepares to leave.

The “Rocket Record” Podcast: Spring Well-Wishes

April 20, 2024 by Lara Rosenbach Leave a Comment

As we head into the first months of Spring, I thought it would be nice to instill some warm, positive feelings in students as the final months of school approach. I talked to freshman Jake, seniors Navlea and Eric, and junior Frayen about something that made them smile, and a compliment they would like to give to someone at SLA—student or faculty.

They complimented their friends, family, and the school as a whole. Eric said he was happy to be interviewed in the first place, because he was glad “people want to hear what I’m feeling.” I think this episode shows how the little things can really brighten a person’s day.

The “Rocket Record” Podcast: Book Recommendations

March 5, 2024 by Lara Rosenbach Leave a Comment

Mila Rosario’s video short for last week’s theme on book recommendations: “Books are universal, they come in different languages, genres, old or new there is always a book for someone out there. This video shows what different people prefer to read, setting from person to person or reader to reader… enjoy hearing about people’s fav books in this short.”

By Maya Smelser & Anouk Ghosh-Poulshock Staff Writers Everyone remembers their first concert. But when the pandemic hit, many tours were canceled or rescheduled.
